This guide explains how to effectively manage your viral marketing campaigns and set up compelling reward tiers that motivate participants to share your campaigns.

Campaign Management

Accessing Your Campaigns

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Go to ViralMarketingWP > Campaigns
  3. You’ll see a list of all your existing campaigns

Campaign List View

The campaigns list view shows important information about each campaign:

  • Title: The name of your campaign
  • Shortcode: The code to embed the campaign on your site
  • Leads: Number of people who have signed up
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of visitors who signed up
  • Start/End Date: When the campaign runs
  • Status: Whether the campaign is active

Creating a New Campaign

  1. From the Campaigns page, click Add New
  2. Enter a title for your campaign
  3. Fill in the campaign details in the sections below

Campaign Information

In the Campaign Information section:

  • Add a description that will appear at the top of your campaign form
  • This is where you explain what your campaign is about and entice visitors to sign up

Campaign Dates

In the Campaign Dates section:

  • Start Date: When the campaign will begin (leave blank to start immediately)
  • End Date: When the campaign will end (leave blank for no end date)

Campaigns will only be active between these dates. Outside this period, visitors will see a message that the campaign is not active.

Form Fields

In the Form Fields section:

  • Select which fields to include in your opt-in form
  • Email is always required and cannot be deselected
  • Other available fields include First Name, Last Name, and Phone Number

Choose only the fields you need to keep your form simple and improve conversion rates.

Managing Rewards

Rewards are a critical component of viral marketing campaigns as they incentivize participants to share your campaign with their network.

Setting Up Reward Tiers

In the Rewards section of the campaign editor:

  1. Enter a Title for each reward (e.g., “Free Ebook”, “25% Discount”, “Early Access”)
  2. Add a Description explaining what participants will receive
  3. Set the Required Referrals number – how many friends they must refer to unlock this reward
  4. Click Add Reward Level to create multiple reward tiers

Creating a graduated reward system with multiple tiers encourages continued sharing:

  • Entry-level rewards (1-3 referrals): Easy to achieve to build initial momentum
  • Mid-level rewards (5-10 referrals): More valuable items for active participants
  • Top-tier rewards (15+ referrals): Premium incentives for your most engaged advocates

Reward Ideas

Consider these reward types for your campaigns:

  • Digital content: Ebooks, guides, templates, stock photos
  • Discounts: Percentage or fixed amount off your products/services
  • Free products: Sample items, low-cost products, accessories
  • Early access: Preview of new features or products
  • Exclusive content: Training, webinars, members-only materials
  • Recognition: Featuring participants on your website or social media
  • Services: Free consultations, support, or add-on services

Editing or Removing Rewards

To modify existing rewards:

  1. Go to the campaign edit screen
  2. Scroll to the Rewards section
  3. Update the information for any reward
  4. To remove a reward, click the Remove Reward button below it
  5. Click Update to save your changes

Remember that changing rewards for active campaigns may affect participants who are working toward specific goals.

Campaign Shortcode

Each campaign has a unique shortcode that you can place on any page or post:

  1. Find the shortcode in the Shortcode box (e.g.,

    Campaign not found.

    )
  2. Copy this code and paste it into any page or post where you want the campaign to appear
  3. You can use the same campaign on multiple pages if needed

Advanced Campaign Settings

Additional campaign options are available through filters and actions for developers. See our Developer Documentation for customization options.
